Hollywood Gallery
Paintings by Brian Shapiro
From 1981-1988 the artist created over 300 paintings and
drawings of "behind the scenes" moviemaking in Hollywood. These
paintings were exhibited by the State Department in Europe at the
National Gallery of Art, Athens, Greece as well as in other nations.
Fifty-five paintings were exhibited by the Smithsonian Institution in
Los Angeles and in galleries and museums nationwide. The artist was the
first painter to exhibit his paintings in a one-person show at the
Motion Picture Academy. Several of these paintings are available.
" Brian Shapiro's paintings of Hollywood, created in
less than nine years, are the best fine art depictions of the Movie
Industry at work ever."
-- Army Archerd, renowned columnist, Variety
