Partial Resume
Brian Shapiro was born on May 27, 1942 in Rochester, New York. In 1950, he attended classes at the Memorial Art Gallery, Rochester. In 1960, Shapiro won a citywide art scholarship competition to the Rochester Institute of Technology, where he received an A.A.S. degree. In 1962 Shapiro was awarded an S.A.I.C. scholarship to the Art Institute of Chicago. In 1964 he graduated with honors, earning a B.F.A in Sculpture, followed by an M.F.A. in painting in 1967.
Shapiro taught College Art from 1969-71. From 1971-74 he designed and physically built four private homes. His most recent sale of over 200 paintings was to The Elizabeth Collection at Artisan Works, in Rochester New York.
